HAKKINDA

I am a physical oceanographer with a wide range of scientific interests and hands-on experience in experimental oceanography, data acquisition, processing and analysis, as well as numerical modelling of both the atmosphere and the ocean utilizing high-performance computing. Among the ocean model I have experience are NEMO, ROMS, HYCOM, FVCOM, MEDSLIK-II. I have used this model output to forecast the oil spills and human search and rescue activities at the sea. Masters and PhD degrees achieved in Physical Oceanography, an academic background which includes several years of post-doc experience at Navy Research Laboratories (NRL), USA, University of Hamburg, Germany, and at the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC), Italy, extensive past and current involvement in atmosphere-ocean modelling, observations and analyses performed within the operational context.
